Neil Peart is an internationally acclaimed, bestselling, and award-nominated author, and for more than thirty years has been the legendary drummer and lyricist for the band Rush. For decades, Neil prepared and waited to write a book about the biggest journey of all in his restless existence, his ultimate travelogue - a concert tour. Finally, the right time and the right tour: Rush's 30th anniversary trek -- 9 countries, 57 shows, and 500,000 fans.

What Customers Say About Roadshow: Landscape With Drums: A Concert Tour by Motorcycle:

The subject matter is excellent and Neil Peart is a greater writer. I give this book the highest rating possible. If you are into motorcycles and motorcycle touring in particular, if you are into music and motorcycles, this is a fantastic book.

Peart's area of expertise -- as an author and at this point -- are travel-type books, where he takes us all along on a road trip and lets us into his thoughts and musings during the journey. What I enjoyed most about the book was his interactions with his travelling companions, Michael and Brutus - it gives it a "buddy book" feel.

He spends a good four to five pages writing about his stay there, and makes one feel like he or she is there with him.I very much recommend this book - Peart's best effort yet. I also enjoyed Peart's detailed descriptions of some of the truly unique places that he visited, such as Andrew Carnegie's Skibo Castle in Scotland.

Another great book by Neil Peart, and I think my favorite one so far. Peart prefers to travel between stops mostly by motorcycle, keeping a journal during the course of the trip.

You won't be disappointed. Those that are looking for "the life of a rock star while on the road" book will be disappointed, as Peart spends little time on the mechanics of soundchecks, catering tables and road hijinks; rather this book is another homage to seeing life and the world from the saddle of a motorcycle.

People can talk about how private he is, but when one really thinks about it, through his many books Peart has revealed more of his inner "self" than almost any musician out there. The book covers Peart's travels during the course of his band's 30th anniversary tour through North America and Europe.

It goes little story about that day mileage and then journal about show and repeat. The reason that it was only a 4 star was it was a little blandish like it was the same thing over and over again. I thought it was very good though and i have read somereally good books but this is in my top 10. I loved the book it was very well written and about my favorite band and drummer. I loved the little drum jokes every once in a while.

Even if you are not a massive Rush fan, as I am, you will love Neil's work. It is very apparent Neil has a deep love for literature and writing. Neil takes you from the smallest corners of the United States to some of the largest settings in the world that one could find while traveling. In 'Roadshow' his stories about life, the road, the band, every day people and his career is an awesome inside and behind the scenes look at one of music's most talented musicians and one of the very best rock bands in music history. I have enjoyed this book as much as 'Ghost Rider' which I really did not expect to happen. Neil writes with such a personal style that he just sucks you into the scenery, travel, places, people and events that he is writing about.

Gear heads will find it interesting but everyone else will probably find it to be too much inside baseball. This is a must have for any Rush fan. I read Masker Rider and Ghost Rider and this is the best of the 3. I would have rather heard more "backstage stuff" and less about the torque ratio of Neil's latest 2 wheeled toy. Not only a great journal of the R30 Tour but really all of Rush's tours as Neil recounts prior experiences in the context of the most recent tour. A little tedious in spots when it comes to the motorcycle technical jargon.
